What Does Fire Marshal Training Cover?

A certified fire marshal acts as the bridge between your staff and the emergency services.
Training is up to date for 2026 and focuses on three core areas:

🔥

Prevention

Identifying potential fire hazards and ensuring daily fire safety compliance.

🚪

Evacuation

Leading safe, orderly exits and conducting accurate roll calls at assembly points.

🧯

Action

Liaising with emergency services and using fire extinguishers to tackle small fires.

Our onsite fire marshal/warden training is typically delivered over a half-day (approximately 3 hours) and is split into two engaging sections:

Section 1: Fire Safety Management & Prevention

  • The common causes of workplace fires and how to prevent them.

  • The duties and responsibilities of a fire marshal/warden during an evacuation.

  • How to conduct effective fire risk management and dynamic risk assessments (DRA).
  • Understanding the fire triangle and how fires spread (convection, conduction, radiation).

  • The role of the "Responsible Person" under the RRFSO 2005.

Session 2: Practical Fire Extinguisher Training

  • Safety precautions required before using fire-fighting equipment.

  • Understanding the different types of fire extinguishers (Water, Foam, CO2, Powder) and their specific uses.

  • Hands-on practical: Safely demonstrating competent fire extinguishment using real equipment under expert supervision.

Why Choose In-Person Fire Marshal Training?

Nothing beats the hands-on experience of an in person fire marshal training session.
Here is why businesses across the UK choose our face-to-face delivery:

We Come To You: Minimal disruption to your daily operations.
Tailored to Your Building: Our trainers adapt the session to your specific workplace layout, identifying your actual escape routes, assembly points, and unique fire risks.
Live Extinguisher Practice: Trainees physically handle real fire extinguishers, building crucial muscle memory and confidence that cannot be replicated on a screen.
Fully Compliant: Meets all stringent requirements set out by The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
IFE Accredited Certification: Every trainee receives an industry-recognised certificate shortly after completion.
